Transcript arrived 2 weeks late. Will I be automatically rejected?

Hi, I applied to transfer to Chapman University from a CC and sent in my application, college transcripts, and LOR on time (Feb 15). However, my high school transcript hasn’t arrived yet and it’s been over 2 weeks! I’m freaking out about this and keep calling my HS and they said they sent it but it’s still not there. My HS and Chapman are only 15 miles apart. I’ve been in contact with my counselor at Chapman and they know my situation, but do you think it looks bad on my part for my HS sending my transcript so late???

OK, deep breaths.

First of all, any college is likely to realize that delays will happen; this is not their first rodeo.

Stop freaking out. Speak to your HS and ask them to resend. Speak to someone at Chapman and let them know; ask if there’s a particular person whose name can be on the resend. That way, once it hits Chapman, it’s less likely to get lost. Maybe even ask if it’s possible to send the transcripts electronically and on paper.

It doesn’t look bad for you.

It looks like a HS who can’t get their act together. It’s probably because they have their hands full with current students and parents who are right there on campus.

If they are aware of the situation at Chapman and you follow the advice from @bjkmom you will not be disadvantaged. I hope they like your application and you can attend.

But it’s a hard process and you can only control your side of the street.
