Transcript Forgery Concerns (Serious Inquiry)

"if the high school finds out they can and might fail him and not let him graduate..there is zero tolerance"

Not so sure about that. I doubt they can fail him, but they would administer some sort of punishment. It would probably be some serious suspension. I still highly encourage the OP to talk to the friend's dad and son. I don't believe he is facing a moral issue. If you are doing it just to be spiteful then you are doing it on unethical grounds. Sorry, but I think if you do that, you will be a very bad friend. Talk to them first. Worst case, let the counselor know. Don't bypass the school because they have a lot to loose.

You're afraid of ruining this kid's life because of a "mistake". Please. This is no "mistake". This is fraud. And if this kid is skilled enough to do everything you say, and make an "undetectable" forgery, then I guarantee you that this is not his first "mistake." One does not begin with a big fraud. What else has he duplicated? Forged? Stolen? Plagiarized? How many people that you don't know about has he harmed in the process?

If you don't want to see this kid behind bars for forgery, embezzlement, or worse when he gets older, which is where he's heading, turn him in now. Yes, tell your friend, but you need to tell the appropriate people. You are doing him and yourself no favor by keeping this to yourself. (Ever hear of "accessory after the fact"?)

Oh, and please tell me that your company wasn't stupid enough to hire him? If so, keep him away from your books!

the more "perfect" a plan is, the more ways it can fall apart. college admissions officers arent stupid--they're pretty much trained to analyze this stuff. sure the perp can prbly fool most normal ppl, but he'll prbly be caught by admissions & then that won't be fun at all

With thousands of applicants to sift through, admissions officers have no time to play FBI...

Agreeing with Chedva. This is not the first time kid's done this.

Op may be considered an accomplice after the fact.

If this is really about somebody who is thinking about doing something like this...don't. The risks far outweigh the potential benefits.

hey cool u actually created your own watermark...

Me in the other hand, if i were to do something like that. I would use the same stamps as the school uses, because I'm the person who they trust to stamp other students transcripts. But hey, just hope they don't call your school to verify your grades.

^also in the past i was joking around with my friend saying i could have done something like you just did. But I wont take the risk of losing everything i worked hard for. My advice is come clean while u can.
