I know this may have been asked already but I wanted to know if U of Michigan would accept a transcript I sent to them directly. It's sealed and everything. And if you're wondering why I sent them and not my school was because unfortunately my HS counselor waited until the last minute to get everything ready and by then I HAD to send my transcript overnight.

Many colleges advise that if it is absolutely necessary for the student to send his or her own transcript, it should be sent in a SEALED envelope. They should accept. You can always call and find out.

oh ok thanks, I was really worrying about that because when I had checked my app status on-line I saw that the status on my transcript was "not received" but I'll call them tomorrow and hopefully everything will work out. I do realize that it may take some time for them to place all of my application material together, but I believe I followed procedures correctly because I made sure that the envelope was stamped and sealed.

If what you've sent is the copy of the transcript you get from the school (your "report card"), sorry, that's not sufficient. The transcript needs to be certified as accurate by your school. If it's an official transcript, then you should be OK.

yeah it's definitely NOT a report card it's an official sealed transcript that I picked up from the registrar's office myself. To be on the safe side though should I just ask my counselor to send a transcript via internet? I was reading on the U-M website that they accept that but I'm not sure if sending two transcripts is a good idea.
