I've been checking my application status online, and everything is marked as being received except for my my "High School Documents" (meaning the transcript). I know for a fact that my transcript and a letter of recommendation were mailed in the same envelope to the admissions office on January 29. On Tuesday, I gave the office a call and asked what the status of either item was. They said they had "scanned in" the letter of recommendation, and they also said doing that doesn't take long at all - I then asked about the status of the transcript, and they said it still hadn't been processed.

At first, I was confused as to why, since they were in the same envelope, the transcript was not processed at the same time. The admissions officer then said the transcript has to be sent off "somewhere else in the building" to be reviewed , checked, then processed, and that this can take a very long time. Feeling desperate to have my application complete as soon as possible, I asked about hand-delivering a transcript to them - I was informed that to do this, I would need to write a letter of appeal (that he said would probably be denied like most others) because my application would then be considered "late."

How is ensuring that they do indeed have a transcript in their hands (and that it hasn't been lost) an admission that my application is late? I just want my file to be complete as soon as possible; wouldn't physically delivering a transcript to the right people help that process? What should I do? The status webpage also says it may take "7 to 21 working days for your document(s) to be loaded into [their] computer system," and I know my two items were mailed right before the deadline, but I'm growing more anxious by the minute. I just want my file to be complete!
