Transcripts and paper application - help

I've created an account on the CommonApp. When applying to any given college, do I need to do anything with the online account? Or should I just download the forms from the CommonApp website, fill them in and include my CommonApp ID, and then post them? If that's the case, what really is the purpose of the "Common"App?

Can my schools use their own forms for the transcript? Should I staple my transcripts to the CommonApp school report for each of my high schools? I'm not so sure how to go about that...

The school report and international supplement also asks whether I'm taking any courses this year. Should I cross those lines out? Or write "None?"

For the field which asks which school I currently attended, what should put there? I was gonna go with "None. Completed A-Levels." Is that okay? Note that I'm an international student who's already "graduated high school", in the sense that I have completed A-Levels. We aren't awarded high school diplomas here.

Would it help my case at all if I were to writa a school profile for my high school? (the one I spent most years at) The counselor himself asked whether there was any way he could give further information on the school and the opportunities available there, so I figured I could do that. Or do things like that fall under the counselor recommendation?

On that note, would I require counselor recommendations from all the high schools I've attended or just the one?

Thank you.

The purpose of the Common App is that you only have to fill out the application form once, and then submit it to each school. Schools prefer that you do it online, but you do have the option to mail them the filled in form (copy for each school, but do a manual signature on each copy).

Give the school the common app form. At a minimum, it helps the college to tie the transcript back to you. The school will accept whatever the school sends. The school should be sending the transcript directly to the college.

either leave blank, or write “not currently enrolled”

Put your last school attended, and the date you graduated.

I am looking at the International Supplement, and I do not see these questions.

It is better if it comes from the school. But, something is better than nothing. Maybe give what you write to your counselor for him to affirm and send in with his recommendation.

More can’t hurt. At a minimum you may need transcripts from each High School.

That question may have been in the school report. My apologies.

I take it that I should leave the field which asks what classes I am currently enrolled in blank? Same with things like class rank or GPA? (which none of my schools use)

Yes, the school report will definitely have to be approved by the counselor. I hope it’s not overkill…

I very much appreciate your help. :-)

Fill out your section, and leave the rest blank. It may seem like you are “helping” by filling in the information, but the school may have its way of doing things.

None of my schools have any experience with US applications but I’ll leave those blank.

Is it okay if my schools fill in the forms with a pen? I’ll find in my part directly on the computer. Or should I bring them the .pdf files, fill everything in there from a computer and then print the form?

*I’ll fill in my part directly on the computer. (typo)

Should I also send the “final report”? Would it not be redundant, seeing as the “final report” would be exactly like the “school report?”

The final report only goes to the school you are going to go to. It is the one that shows your final grades and that you graduated.
