Transcripts

Does anyone know how long does it usually take for UCI to Update the status of transcripts under "my schools" as received? My other transcripts were updated within a day or so but this last one is taking a lot longer. In addition, one of the schools that previously had the dates from which I attended recorded correctly, now shows a differend "end date", so I am concerned they might have mixed up the transcripts.
Before you guys say: "go ask admissions," let me tell you I already did, and in fact it has been two weeks since I left a couple of messages through the message center and a voicemail to my counselor but I haven't heard back from her. I called them and they said they are really busy, so it might take a while for my counselor to respond.

They’ve had my high school transcript for almost a month now, and they still haven’t updated the MyAdmissions site to reflect that they’ve received it. When I called, they told me it’s because it hasn’t been officially audited yet. But my college transcripts were all marked as received within days of their arrival.

Also, my high school attendance dates were listed incorrectly, so I messaged my admissions counselor with the correct dates. Now the dates are even more wrong - off by 4 months instead of one month. lol.

They told me that if there were any problems with my transcripts, my admissions counselor would get in contact with me, so I’m just going to let them sort things out on their own. If they get confused or have a problem, they can call me/ email me and I can help straighten it out. Hopefully I’ll be able to double check that they’ve got everything right when I go in for my academic advising session (I’m doing mine with the bio dept at the July Transfer Success).

That is what scares me though. Because I depend on them evaluating the transcripts (the ones that are not from a cc) to see which classes will transfer and which ones won’t. Whenever I call them they always guarantee everything is going to be ready by the time I scheduled my orientation. Thing is, they don’t even know which orientation day I picked, so they are just assuring me it will be alright when they don’t even know!
What a mess!
I also scheduled mine for after transfer success on July 8th. I guess I will see you there!

I had my CC send my final transcripts as soon as they were available (mid June I was told). Today UCI updated that they’d received my Spring 2011 transcripts. So it should be within 2-3 days of your school sending them.

Also as far as academic advising, you don’t need an official transcript to bring with you (that’s what my department told me). I actually had my orientation on Tuesday (before they received my transcripts). At the end of orientation, when we were all registering for our classes in a computer lab, I called over one of the assistants, showed her the assist.org equivalent classes, then showed her my unofficial CC transcripts indicating I completed the equivalent prereqs. She then went to her computer, entered my info, and next thing you know I was cleared to register in upper division bio classes (I’m a psych and social behavior major).

So as long as you bring at least unofficial transcripts, you should be good to go.

Also, is there a reason you are signing up for such a late academic advising date? It would be better for you to sign up for the earliest orientation, and then complete Transfer Success at a later time.

The reason I registered for such a late advising is exactly to give them time to evaluate my transcripts. The problem with me is that I have over 150 units completed abroad which might include some (if not most) of my required upper division classes. The thing is that they don’t know (as of now) which classes are going to be considered transferable. So let’s say they consider one of my experimental psychology as transferable, and I end up enrolling in this class because I didn’t know that, then it would suck. Got it?
Also it is not THAT late. It is right on the middle. There are two in June, two in July and the one on July 8th after transfer success.
