<p>Has anyone who applied to UW for Fall 2013 as a Freshman been asked to upload their 2012 Fall Semester High School transcripts?</p>

<p>Yes. My daughter was asked to have her high school send (via fax or email, not USPS mail) her current transcript on Dec. 27, 2012. She applied to UW for Fall 2013 on Nov. 30, 2012.</p>

<p>Her stats:

  • 3.97 uw / 4.15 w GPA
  • class rank 5/280
  • SAT 1940 (M 690, CR 610, W 640)
  • ACT 29
  • good mix of ECs; three-year varsity volleyball player</p>

<p>FWIW, she applied to eight schools and has been accepted to seven, all with substantial merit scholarship offers.</p>

<p>Oh, okay. I bet in that case they just select a random batch of students (to check if they’re telling the truth) not that your kid isn’t. They probably just want to make sure.</p>

<p>So do you think it’s random that they ask for HS transcripts? Or are they only asking them from the kids that will get in? (The ones with the higher GPA’s)? Has anyone with a lower GPA been asked to send in their transcripts? Lower than a 3.7</p>

<p>I was asked to send in unofficial transcript at the end of December, too. But I consider myself as a freshman with a different situation since I studied my 9th and 10th grade in a different country and English is my second language. I wasn’t that surprised when I got the email.
They first asked me to send my 9th and 10th grade transcript, and after that they asked me to send in my 11th grade one(that I studied in the U.S.).
Is there anyone else be asked to send in unofficial transcript?</p>

<p>they see senior yer if they ask for transcripts, too, so that may play a factor.</p>

<p>What do you mean? Do you mean that you think they just randomly pick students and ask for transcripts?</p>

<p>that’s what I would guess. UC does it with ECs, so it’s easier for UW to do it with grades.</p>

<p>i have a 3.12 and they just sent me an email today asking about my transcript.</p>

<p>I have a feeling that 3.97 was just a random check. I have extremely similar stats (exact same GPA even) but haven’t been contacted about sending a transcript.</p>

<p>It sounds like not everyone was asked, and it was quite random.</p>
