Transcripts?

Hey guys I just have a quick question hopefully you can help me out. I applied to UCLA for the Fall 2010 as a freshman applicant. A couple of days ago i received an e-mail from the admissions office and it said that they had not received a copy of my high school transcript and that they wanted me to fax them to the campus. The thing is, i thought that UCLA did not require a unofficial high school transcript until you were admitted to the school. Is there a specific reason that they might require it? Thanks for any help guys.

Weird. I never sent my transcripts to UCLA either. I was under the impression that they weren’t required

I also never sent them in, was told they weren’t required.

UC sent out a snail mail recently to randomly selected ~10% of its applicants whose apps it is auditing. This might have something to do with that.

Yea I never sent them out either but I did fax them out as requested. I didn’t know about the auditing thing but that could be a possibility. Thanks for the info.

I’m also thinking that it might be that my high school has a very different grading system than traditional schools so they might have requested them for that reason also.

Ah, it could mean that you’re borderline.

Last year, during the winter breaking, I got sent an email titled Supplementary info or something from UCLA that they wanted my senior year grades (and some optional essay questions). I didn’t respond (or really, I forgot.) And about this time of the year or maybe later, they sent me another email asking me to provide the information again.

That is absolutely weird. I thought UCLA does not require transcripts.
And I don’t see why they need a transcript faxed to them when they already have the notoriously long “academic history” at hand.

What do you mean by borderline? Can you elaborate a little more please?

It doesn’t mean anything.

Ok, thanks.
