First question-How is the Economics and Business schools at U of Chicago for Undergrads?

Second question-How is the transfer acceptance rate?

Second Question: I hear its not very high

Then again the concensus on this board is that im an immature, unreliable source, so....................

Eco is decent, Business is meh.

Quoted from their website:
[quote]
Each year, about 75 new transfer students matriculate at the College.

This past year, we had over 575 transfer applicants; we admitted 125.

btw, Chicago is one of the best schools to study economics at. There is no business for undergrads, although you may take some courses at their grad business school (you still can't major in it though).

Im getting nervous about my transfer.

The decisions, according to the blog, will likely be out next week (week of the 17th). Until then, just relax. Get nervous next week. :)

well, EA decisions will be out next week, procrastinators like me who couldnt finish their apps till the RD deadline have to wait another month :(

I am EA, thats why.

I'm going to be rejected and then I will get drunk alone in my apartment.

I'm down for getting drunk over rejection if your in NYC.

I'm also down for getting drunk for acceptance, or waitlisted.

You know what, lets just get drunk.

This is why I want to transfer...if I were at a real college instead of a commuter school where I live with my parents, I would be able to do this a lot easier. Oh well. Good luck.

We can get drunk online together. I am in Chicago.

...as in the city or the university???

Yeah why not. Webcam fun all the way... haha

It's a 20% acceptance rate. I am an econ major so I bet its much slimmer for me as I bet a lot of students are transfering under that major.

20% is a pretty damn high transfer acceptance rate. I love U of Chicago and I have no idea why...It's like so far away from my house since I live in Connecticut

Do you guys think it's necessary to retake the SATI and SATII for transfer? There are EA and ED even for transfer??! I did NOT know that lol let's get drunk, I need some time away from reality

I also read from the Yale forum that Chicago's Econ is one of the very very very best

Bieu203,

There is an "Early Alternative" transfer option. There is no contract or anything. You can just apply a month early and get your decision a month early.

As for the SATI and SATII, only retake them if you think you can do much better. Otherwise just let them stand. Obviously, you'll still have to send them your old scores.
