Ok, let me start off by saying I made a huge mistake in the college admissions proces from high school. I had above average SAT Scores (2220) and above average SAT Subject Test Scores but I only applied to local state universities except one: Rice. I was waitlisted at Rice and I don't think I'll be getting in since it will be closed down soon.

The reason for my being waitlisted I believe is my freshman year grades: I had a couple of Cs. I've had all As for the rest of my high school career. Anyways, I will be attending the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). I wanted to know what exactly I should do to enhance my chances of getting accepted as a transfer applicant to more selective institutions. I will most likely be reapplying to Rice and maybe Columbia and Cornell. What other transfer colleges should I apply to?

I will be an engineering major w/ pre-med courses because I hope to go to medical school. I just don't want to stay at UTD because I don't think I'll be able to achieve my full potential there. Also, in terms of reapplying to Rice, what should I do? I know getting the highest grades possible at UTD is neccessary to compensate for my somewhat poor high school grades but will it be enough? Thanks, sorry if i asked too many dumb questions
