I was just wondering if anyone who has transferred successfully to UVM could give me some tips on how to tackle the transfer essay to make myself stand out. I have everything else done--teacher rec, application, employer cover letter for my resume. I also wanted to know what my chances would be because I am extremely nervous that I won't get in and I know that this is my last chance to transfer because I am currently a sophomore. I started out at a small liberal arts college and did horrible..I got 2 D's and a B+, and I transferred to a state university near my house where I have done OK academically--although I got a D in a history course my first semester there that I am now retaking and I currently have an A. But my other grades have been all B's and A's in fairly challenging business classes as well as other arts and science classes. Will they overlook the D's and consider the more positive trend in my grades now? Or will the D's hold me back and totally screw up my chances?
