Transfer Advice?

So i'm a biology major currently attending a CC. I want to transfer to USC in Fall 2012 with a sophomore standing... But I'm taking a calculus class and i'm not doing so well. I have a C so i'm deciding whether or not I should drop it and get a W. What would you recommend? Should i just take the C and hope for the best or get the W and try again later?

At this point, I would definitely persevere. Do whatever you can to bring that grade up; go to tutoring, study on Friday nights. I imagine you only have a week or two left until finals; until that point, make Calculus your life.

Would also go to office hours, reviews, and everything you can so you can better understand the subject. Math is cumulative and you need a good background, in case you may need more math. One other thing–at many schools you can’t drop a class for a W this later in the term, so you’d have to check that out as well. Talk with the teacher about how you can do better and list out all the questions you have about the course so you can go over these.

Good luck! There is still a bit more time & you can improve if you put your mind to it!
