Reason for Transferring:
Chose Binghamton after being waitlisted by all of his potential schools last year (with the exception of UChicago where he was rejected EA), gets sick easily and the continuously chaning weather of Binghamton doesn't help his suceptibility to respiratory illnesses (has had bronchitis since moving in), chose BU over other safety because he believed it would be more of an acadmeic atmosphere but realizes it as a slack haven, and since he has established his work ethic there, believes he can handle working hard anywhere (complete turnaround from slacker reputation in high school), feels disheartened in a downtown area where everyone frequents the same hole in the wall bar every weekend while being amidst a plethora of boarded up old buildings and knowing that he and his fellow students are not wanted there by the towns people (there is a comission to kick the students out of the only remotely safe, affordable alternative to offcampus housing), still feels slightly hesitant about transferring because he likes his friends up here alot, but feels that because they rely on him to force them to study that it will bring him down in the long run (friends of his have attempted to make their schedule match his), doesn't want to leave these friends as RAs have even said they are the most tight knit group of freshman that they have seen in quite some time (they are considering starting their own chapter of a fraternity so that they wouldn't be split by the different organizations on campus. Student wants to at least try and transfer and hopefully have some options.
Student background:
White, Male, Family income of about $80,000
Looking to stay within a reasonable traveling distance from home because father has cancer, looking for school that offers a solid option of places to work near the school to suplement his own income, Would like to find a school that provides the majority of its financial aid in grants.

thank you that is definitely an option
any other suggestions?
