My daughter had a 2.5 gpa after HS sophomore. Turned it around and got 5As, 1B in first semester Junior year, and is on same pace this quarter. She has alrealdy registered and been approved for 2 AP/IB courses in Sr. year.

Obviuosly this won't bring her GPA up enough when she begins applying in the fall, as it will only reflect any impact that her Jr year had on the prior yr grades.

However, if she were to be evaluated after her complete Sr year, and can get her Wgtd GPA of 3.25-3.5, she would look like a completely different applicant.

I think, though, that she may have to do 1 year of Community Colllege, and then apply to transfer during that first year. When she applies then colleges will have her entire HS transcript, including her Sr. year grades. (She got an 1800 SAT and is in a prep class to take it again in June)

When you apply to a 4yr with less than 30credits they consider you as a regular freshman, so i think she will have a good chance when her Sr. year grades are part of the Application. Does this sound right to you guys?
