What is the truth about the SAT/ACT importance when transfering in freshman year? Do schools look at them at all? And if they do, how much weight do they give them? Do they consider your grades in freshman year (and H.S. transcript) as an indicator of how well you are doing in college level classes?

Each school sets its own policies, and those policies can change from one year to the next. Generally speaking, after 60 college credits (two years) the HS transcript and ACT/SAT scores don't matter. BUT some schools may still want to see them. Generally speaking, if you have fewer than 60 college credits (less than two years), the schools will want to see the HS transcript and ACT/SAT scores. BUT some schools won't ask for them, just the college level transcript(s). You have to ask every single one of the schools that you are interested in just exactly which information they will require you to send for your application.

In any case, your most recent grades (i.e. the college grades) are the most important ones. And yes, real true college level courses are a better indicator of how well you are likely to do in the rest of your college career.
