I am accepted at North Carolina Central University, and I was wondering how much will my HS grades weigh if i transfer after freshman year?

apparently, they don't even care when about HS grades after freshman year transfer

This may not directly apply to you, but I applied to my choice college last week and requested that my transcripts be sent three days later. Apparently they were pretty quick, I got an acceptance 'card' on Friday. This was without having to send in high school transcripts.

Most colleges use your HS transcripts just for placement purposes. UT, for instance, doesn't even require you to send the HS transcripts w/ all the rest of your materials. You can send it after they've already accepted you.

I disagree with many of the people who posted. If you're trying to transfer during your freshman year (for the coming sophomore year), most schools only have one set of first semester grades to look at. Many school want to see your HS transcript because they want to see a general trend of academic performance and do not want to base a decision only on one semester of grades. When I applied to Cornell, Wash U, College of William and Mary, and Tufts, all of the schools asked for a HS transcript.

Usually hs dont count when transferring as a junior (60 or more semester units) but you will definately be asked for your hs transcripts if you will transfer as a sophmore (30-59 semester units) go to the schools website that you have in mind to get a definite answer to your question.
