I am interested in transferring to FSU for my junior year, and currently I am a second semester freshman at a university. When looking into anthropology I saw the program was suspended. Does this mean it is suspended for just this year while being reviewed, or will it be longer? What are the chances that it will be removed from the FSU catalog completely?

FSU has pretty much decided it does not care about providing anthropology courses for prospective students. If you’re a freshman, you will not be able to declare anthropology as your major. you may find some courses, but because you are not a junior/senior with many hours of anthropology under your belt, declaring anthro as a major is out of the question.

Oh, I just read you’re planning to transfer as a junior. The prospect is pretty grim for anthropology atm, but they haven’t said for sure whether the program will be revived in the future. It’s pretty much up in the air, so I suggest keeping a close eye on this and who knows, maybe you’ll be allowed to transfer into the anthro dept. in the future.
