Transfer App: What if my teacher recommendations arrive before my application?

As a transfer applicant, I can only submit my teacher rec, college counselor report, secondary school report, ETC ETC ETC by mail. Not by e-mail.

I'm worried that my professors are going to mail in my recommendations before I finish my application. If these arrive before my application is submitted, are they going to be able to keep track of it?

How will they match my application to my recommendations? This is insane!

Has anyone had this experience before? Are they actually able to straighten all that out? It seems impossible.

Not as impossible if you think about it. What would you do if you were the office manager?

Colleges and universities get many docs sent to them for which no existing app exists. They gather them in either actual files or scanned into electronic ones. Once students’ apps come in, it’s not difficult to match them. Remember, they are often receiving stuff for freshmen admits, transfers like you, and even the various graduate and professional schools. I’ll bet an occasional staffing/hiring letter of rec gets sent to them.
