Transfer back to Freshman Year?

I know that it's possible to take a year off upon completion of your senior year in high school. However, I was wondering if it's possible to attend college as a freshman, and then to instead of transfer, apply AGAIN as a freshman applicant. Is there such a function as this? Or maybe are there a few schools that allow this? If so, what schools do and what schools don't?

If you attend post-HS college for a year full time, you will be considered a transfer applicant at ANY college. The longest time you can attend post-HS college and still be considered a fr applicant by is less than a year of full time college (the college’s definition, not yours); this long is not common, but there are some colleges that permit it, check college websites for fr/transfer definitions.
