Probably due to your GPA. You have a good shot at getting in now...if you don't make it this time, try again after a semester or two as less emphasis will be placed on your high school grades as you complete more college work.

bump...............................

Anything else other than a 3.8? I mean extracurriculars and that sort of thing. Needless to say, the more college experience you have, the less your high-school record will factor into the decision. But if you really want to get into UVA for your second year give it a shot, and you can always reapply next year (at least I would assume that you can). I transferred with about 50 credits, and luckily for me that wiped out my unimpressive high-school record (I could've only dreamed of a 3.6 in high school, as I was quite the screw up). My college gpa before transferring was 3.92 I think.

Best of luck.

Silence, did you have the 50 credits completed at application time or were they being completed while you sent in your app?

I don't remember the exact number, but it was probably somewhere around 45- 50 when I applied. Not everything transferred, so I ended up right back around 50 when I enrolled at UVA.
