<p>Hello, I just finished my freshman year at a local CC and I am planning to apply to Cal Poly Slo in the fall. I am planning on majoring in animal science and I wanted to know what are my chances of getting into the school. I finished my first semester with a 3.0 and my second with a 3.7, I have a total of 25 units. I am also taking two summer school classes and will be receiving an A in both classes and 6 additional units for those classes. Cumulatively my GPA will be a 3.38 for my first year with 31 units total.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about that particular major but my friend just transfered to SLO as a mechanical engineering major. He said that they’re not too fond on transfers and that it’s harder to get in coming out of a CC. That said, if you show an upward trend in your grades then I don’t see how you would not have a good shot. Your major isn’t impacted right?</p>
