Pretty please chance me! Thanks!!!

You will get in, UF is cutting budgets and this (and the economy) means less people are applying to the school. I heard some people say they got in with a 3.0 and another with a 3.1. It is a joke compared to 2 years ago…

yeah but keep in mind UF prefers not only in state transfers, but also many times gives preference to CC transfers. Could go either way

Oh, I thought he was in state I must have misread it :frowning: Forget what I said unless your a CC transfer…

No I’m not a CC transfer. I’m actually coming from one of the big southern football schools. I am however a Florida resident. Is there anyway I can increase my chances? Or do I have to just leave it up to the UF admission gods?

i personally know a person who got into UF’s Business program with a 3.1 gpa.

I’ll be honest with you from being accepted as a transfer from an OOS school, I’m not really liking your chances but I hope I’m wrong.

Is there a specific reason why you think my chances are so low? Any advice on how to improve them? Do you mind telling my your stats when you got accepted as an OOS transfer?

Now keep in mind I’m not trying to toot my own horn when I’m telling you this:

I have heard there is a 5-10% chance of transfer for OOS university students. When I went to transfer preview of more than 500 students, there were maybe 3 that raised their hand when they asked if anyone was coming from an out of state university. I know your illness might be a very serious reason why you couldn’t do extra curricular activities in college, but I think they take volunteer work very seriously as this was a main point I constructed my essay upon. They say they’re looking for people that are special when you start the application, so you really need to be special haha.

I am also a pre-med student, and not to judge you in any way, but I have probably taken classes that are generally more difficult than that of an anthro major. My GPA at the University of Connecticut was 3.8 overall, and 3.9 pre-professional. I also did a lot of work in the community, and had numerous leadership roles, and was a tutor for general biology. I also put in my application that I planned on continuing to volunteer in the Gainesville community if I was accepted, which I have haha.

I’m not saying it’s impossible, and I hope for your sake that I’m wrong, but it definitely won’t be easy. Best of luck, let me know how it works out.
