Transfer - Chance me?

My stats:
Major: Statistics
GPA: 3.74
IGETC: Will be done by the end of this semester (Fall 2017)
Pre-reqs: Will be taking last one Spring 2018, Differentials
ECs: Working 30-35 Hrs a week, MESA program, Experience Berkeley Transfer Program
Personal Insights:
1)Job shadowed a data scientist, took a couple online courses on Data science on EdX
2) Talk about my rescindment from UCSC as a freshman because of poor senior year and how I changed my mentality from that
3) Helped the community by organizing a big video game tournament in NorCal 300 entrants, when there hasn’t been a big scale tournament here in a long time (ongoing)

Also applying: Davis (TAG), UCLA and UCSB

UC Transfer GPA by Major and Campus: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

UCLA’s admit GPA admit range was 3.77-3.99 for Stats. You are close so difficult to determine but you do have a chance.
UCSB admit GPA admit range was 3.47-3.89 so very good chance.

Not looking good man, the third thing I would probably omit about the video game thing, you’ll probably get into Davis and UCSB though. Who knows, I remember statistics was extremely easy at UCLA maybe their department sucks and its easy to get in lol.

I swear when some people make decision chances on this forum, they just shoot from the hip without basing their judgement on any real foundation. Obviously, as gumbymom pointed out, your GPA was pretty much in the average GPA range and you have your reqs done. I don’t understand how that would qualify as “not good” chances.

@ughstress @ericbadmon Congrats on both of you getting in. As you probably can already tell, chancing is something that is very hard and in general shouldn’t really be done as only the admissions officers are reading your apps. You also have to be weary of who is giving you the advice, are they reputable? It doesn’t matter much now that you have been admitted. Hope you come out to transfer Bruin Day this weekend and see the campus first hand.
