<p>Quick question for a friend of mine, she has the following credentials, and is applying as a transfer to UMDCP, for the priority deadline</p>
<p>GPA: 3.29 (sophmore)
from maryland
Mother went to UMDCP (legacy)
Alpha lambda delta
national honors society high school
maryland scholar
psi chi
secretary of her dorm</p>
<p>no letters of recommendation (she was in a rush to send out the application in time)</p>
<p>There have been a whole lot of Transfer Chances threads this year…most of the people who read or post here only have experience with freshman admissions, unfortunately. They would be looking nearly entirely at her college creds, 3.29 GPA is good, but I don’t know the average. What college is she applying for? I also don’t understand the “no letters of recommendation”. Did she at least follow up with a call or email giving contact info or ?? If the transfer app asked for letters of recommendation, I’d certainly think they would want to see something if they are interested…</p>

<p>Did she write a good personal essay? That can help a lot. Letters of recommendation and the essay are what I’ve been told are most important. 3.2+ GPA is enough to not worry too much about numbers.</p>
<p>Yes she did write a very good essay. she was a deans list student 2/3 semesters she has been in college.</p>
