I just got out of the military after 8 years. I started at ACC this spring semester. I have completed spring, summer, and close to finishing the fall. I will be applying for the 2017 fall semester at UT.
Stats:
- Currently a 4.0 after taking 45 credits over the past 3 semesters.
- Great letters of recommendation from higher leadership and from EE professionals from managing a high visibility comm platform for 4 years.
- Negative: I did one semester in 2007 at a CC in ohio. I may have gone to class 10 times before i figured out my head wasnt in school and enlisted. Unfortunately i did not withdraw and recieved 3 Fs on my transcript. It will be 10 years as of the fall so I will be applying for Academic Bankruptcy.
What are the chances I do/don’t get into the EE program?
If I do make it in a few inquiries:
- If I continue to hold my current grades (generally 95% and up) and enter the program having completed all of my non-engineering classes, Calc. 3, and Engr Phys, will I be in a decent position to keep up with the course load. On average i study around 24hrs a week and we will say 45 to 50hrs would be my capacity to keep my sanity.
- I am planning on teaching myself C++ this winter break. Would you suggest any other critical knowledge/skills to help me.
Thank you if you read this in its entirety. I appreciate any feedback.
