Hi guys, I’m currently a freshman at UTSA (non cap, although I was offered it when I applied last year) and I was wondering if someone could chance me for admissions to the Cockrell School of Engineering for ECE.
EC’s: Not a lot last semester, I do work part time during the semester but I’ve got some from high school, I competed in Quizbowl and Science UIL at district levels, I was vice president of my high school’s chess club and treasurer of the chinese club.
4.0 GPA, taking classes towards a ECE degree.
I should have 2 letters of recommendation or more.
Haven’t started on essays yet, I really should soon.
16 credit hours first semester, 16 hours second semester, expecting a 4.0 by the end of this semester.
Thanks to all those who reply!
Wow, you’re looking pretty darn solid right now. I don’t know about Cockrell’s transfer policy, I don’t know how many they accept, but you’re looking really good right now. Make sure you get involved in clubs, research, internships, whatever you can find at UTSA. Keep that GPA up, you’re looking great.
Like I said before, I don’t know Cockrell’s policy on transfers and their acceptance rate, but I do think you have a really good shot. I’d also recommend considering applying to a few other schools to increase your chances. Good luck!!
