Hi, I just transferred to the California College of the Arts this semster and am dying to get the hell out of dodge. Currently my dream would be to attend Smith but I'm also looking at Hampshire and Mount Holyoke (if you have any other suggestions let me know).

I'm not sure how closely they examine high school records when you already have a degree and have 60+ credits already but I didn't care too much in high school so I graduated with the dismal gpa of 2.4. So I went to a CC and earned an AAS in Visual Communication in Graphic Design Cum Laude with a 3.6 gpa (someone told me they look at your progress and I went from failing 2 classes in high school to making 18 a's and 4 b's in the last 2 years). So this summer I applied to CCA and got in with a Facult Merit Award Scholarship (10 grand a year) and a Diversity Scholarship (5 grand a year).

2 internships
Outstanding student award in art 2005
winner of the visual communications art show 2005 and 2006
2nd place in the annual art show 2006
first ever recipient of the visual com scholarship
volunteered making design/art materials for non profit organizations 2005 and 2006
volunteered to run the school's Film fest that raised money for the scholarship that ultimately went to me
work-study job tutoring students in design and computers
dean's list 2004-2006
president's list 2005-2006
designed a poster for a woman's(non profit) organization.
historian of the visual communications club
killer college reccomendations (is 3 better than 2?)
worked full time for the last 2 years
i literally did every possible thing you could do at the school in the art department and even had faculty invent new positions/internships for me to join

skills:
great writer (was going to major in it till i realized my art is awesome)
fast typer (100 wpm)
recognized artist
great resume/promotional materials
excellant interviewer

diversity:
african american
lesbian
liberal
socialist
feminist
woman (not sure if any of this makes a difference, but hey, i look interesting)

high school:
softmore year softball
junior year track and yearbook
and participant in the Black History Program

Desired Major/Concentration: Women's Studies/Art Studio

I'm not sure if it helps that I'm transferring from a private art school instead of the CC that I just transferred from but I was wondering my chances of getting in? I'm willing to do the interview, resume etc...

Also I know Smith and MHC don't require you to submit your SAT results which is probably a good thing (1150) but I'd be willing to retake them if it will help, i am 100 percent confident that I would raise the score by at least 200 points. Also I could join some clubs while I'm still here for the soul purpose of applying, there are no sports here of course (art students dont sweat).

am I just grasping at straws here?
