Hello CC!
I am an international first-year undergrad who is majoring in Computer Science (with engineering courses). My school is STEM oriented. All my courses are computer or pure science related with an English course in higher year, but I am seeking for a more balanced curriculum for my career aspirations.
I’m just wondering what are my chances of transferring into Computer Science in Columbia Engineering.
Here are my stats:
University:
GPA: 3.2
Courses: 6 (2 computer science (object-oriented programming courses, built a small project related to image recognition), 1 physics, 3 mathematics)
Extracurricular: fundraiser for a school engineering team, a sport, writing (fiction and poetry; I started since the beginning of middle school)
Internships: 2 (both related to Web development, the second one out of my country)
Scholarship: for my HS academic average
HS:
Average: 90+%
Award: academic award related to highest academic average in STEM and in language courses (though not best academic average in the grade) and a literature award (all school awards)
Extracurricular: school newspaper, volunteering (related to communication with different groups), fundraiser in humanitarian clubs
SAT (old): 2220
Physics: 780
Math 2: 800
Please tell me if you need any more information.
