bump

There's just one deadline (March 1st), and you'll find out in late May. I think the average is more like 150 students matriculating (remember, they admit more than those that matriculate). Last year however only 20-30 matriculated. I don't know if they will go back to their old ways or stick with the 20-30 number. I think it will increase at least a little bit because 1. people complained, and 2. admissions is based partly on available housing, and this year, there was a surplus of housing for transfers with only 20-30 of us around.

About the supplementary materials, I don't remember seeing that warning last year, so maybe it's new. It's not good to annoy them, so maybe call if you are considering sending anything in, explain what you have to send in, and see what they say

Ahhhh! Mine was neatly handwritten...am I at a real disadvantage? I assumed they'd appreciate that I'm following directions/that I was willing to write out a 500 word essay..thoughts? I'm sending a supplemental "Why Brown" because that paragraph was not enough.

I sent mine handwritten the first time around (freshman ED) and it didn't turn out too well. While it might make you unique that you're hand writing your app, I think it's best that you make it neat and clean with a word processor. The 500 word essay is your personal statement, write anything you want. One of the short answers is the Why Brown thingy, so write your Why Brown for that.
