I go to community college and have a 3.34 GPA, 1940/2400 SATs, a 3.57 last semester and a 3.94 on my midterm report. I'm applying to Northeastern and Fordham for transfer to study psychology. I'll be getting my Associate's Degree in liberal arts in May. What are my chances of getting in?

You’ll get into Fordham, can’t speak on Northeastern.

I’m also applying to both of those schools as a transfer. My stats are similar to your except my mid term grade report is not as high because I am taking calculus.

I am hoping my class choice makes a big difference because all my classes have been major oriented an not community college crap.

I agree with the other person. Fordham is probable and I’m really hoping for northeastern.

yeah im really hoping for NE too. i like fordham too but i absolutely love NE.

Yea. I think calc might destroy me but I’m hoping my level of classes with give me a bit of a leg up on the people who have taken straight up ge classes.

yeah i did calc in high school. im hoping theyll like that ive overloaded and finishing early. do you know if it helps to have an associates?

I don’t know if it helps o have an associates. It shouldn’t.

I do know that the reason ccs try to get you to get an associates is because they get money for each and every graduate. One of the first things I told my counselor was I am here to transfer, not to get a two year degree. That ended his push towards a two year degree.

@Jjordan do you know the deadline for when transfer have to decide?

I know freshman it is may 1st. I guess I was assuming it was the same but I just looked at one of my CA schools and they say I don’t have to decide til June 1st. Is the deadline for transfers for all school?

i only got the associates degree because after a year i already had enough credits for it and i figured i might as well get it in case something happens and i have to delay my bachelors.
the commonapp dealine for NU was may 1st. so im assuming we dont have to decide til sometime after that. did you hear back yet? theres a transfer thread on the NU forum and everyones saying that their appcheck says they dont have all their required materials. mine does too and im positive i sent it in. oh and the deadline to apply to fordham for transfer was i think june 1st so its kinda weird.

I just sent my last two pieces of material in today. My professor is sending in his letter of recommend tomorrow. So it will hopefully say complete sometime next week.

I got an email from Fordham saying they have not made any transfer decisions yet.

Everything is in. Now I just had to go to school and wait. This may be the longest 3 or 4 weeks ever.

Okay. Its official, all my documents are in.

Any idea how long a decision will take?

im not sure. mine just got completed. i think its usually about two weeks. im not sure if thats two weeks from when its completed or two weeks from when its sent in as long as they get everything in within that time. but i spent a good part of my break at northeastern. SO much fun.

I got in!!!

Northeasters or Fordham or both? and CONGRATZ

I’m guessing they didn’t post application updates on a Sunday morning.

That’s awesome though. Congrats. I hope I hear this week.

They posted it Friday I’ve just been too chicken to check. And only to NU. I don’t really care about FU anymore. Lol.

Anyone know the math graduation requirement for either accounting or Econ?

Business calc? Calc 1? Etc.

Business Calc and Stats for Business majors.

Did you get into Fordham?
