Fall 2014 Transfer Chances

Hi there~

I am currently a second semester Freshman at Northeastern University. I have already submitted my transfer application, but I am curious as to what my chances are of getting accepted.

My current GPA is 3.7 and although I am currently Undeclared, I have taken mostly business/economics courses as I plan on majoring in one of those two. I was also placed onto Dean's List.

I have only taken one college english composition course and was told by the a guy from the USC undergrad transfer office that they would still consider my application because I am only a Freshman. I took Precalculus for Business & Econ Majors last semester and I am currently taking Calculus for Business & Econ Majors. The undergrad office also said this was ok.

I had 17 credits last semester and 16 this semester.

In high school, I did not do that well and got a 3.5 GPA but I had great extracurricular activities like rowing for three years at a National Rowing Association for up to 30 hours per week, volunteering all throughout high school, playing piano everyday for an hour, and being a part of many clubs.

So, based off of all of this, what do you guys think my chances are?

Based on what people said to me (similar situation to yours) based on GPA alone, you have a good chance.

Of course, you would have to elaborate on your college EC’s, have impressive essays, and continue showing an upward trend in college.

Did you check your essay for grammar and usage errors?

Would you mind sharing why you are transferring from NEU? I am actually thinking of transferring there

@scahopeful‌ @"Georgia Girl"‌ @transfer333‌ Update: I just got accepted today as an Undecided major (Dornsife). My GPA from Northeastern was 3.8 and I was part of many school clubs. My reason to apply as a transfer is the more options, the better. Northeastern is a great school especially the Business School (which I got accepted into), but I was curious as to see if I could get into USC as well.
