i will be a sophomore in college by the time I apply for the rutgers spring semester and will have a GPA of 3.1 god willing. i heard its harder to get into the spring semester so i dont really know my chances.
if i dont get in, then i will be applying for the fall semester and will have an approximate gpa of 3.3 if nothing goes wrong. what would my chances be? does the essay really matter?
i also have to mention that during my first two semesters in freshmen year of college, i got 2.7 as my GPA and that i am going to take summer classes this summer which will hopefully raise it to a 3.1.
what are my chances
@jellykat yep i think its gonna be kinda hard to get into the spring semester. btw your gpa is completely fine if you wanna apply for SAS. i applied with the same gpa to SAS NB and got accepted for this fall. I am just waiting on my credit evaluation now. But if you wanna apply to other schools like business etc then they require a much higher gpa. just make sure your gpa is around 3.2 or higher if you wanna get into SAS. And yes the essay is really important since its the only thing that makes you stand out from the rest of the applicants. People with higher gpas than me didnt get in but i did, probably due to my essay so make sure its well written and organized. Good luck!
