Transfer chances uva cas then mcintire please help

I applied to UVA my senior year in high school, but got rejected. I finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 increasing significantly every year, also got a 4.4 my senior year first semester. I have good ecs and 29 ACT/ 1980 SAT. I am planning on going to Wake Forest for a year and then trying to transfer, I am looking to major in business, what gpa would I need to transfer to either UVA? Because of Wake is known for tough grading would anything above a 3.5 be above average chances?

please help what are my chances

anyone help is appreciated thanks

bumpppp help please

bumpppppppp any advice

I got wait listed at UVA my first time around and am now at Wake Forest, and was just accepted as a transfer student, my SATs were 1980, GPA was 3.7 (unweighted) and I have very similar ECs. It is not at all impossible to get above a 3.5, I got a 3.55 but did have to work my ass off, they key is to get professors tht do not love to give out Cs, so i think with a 3.6 which is plausible you will have a decent shot. Only thing I am gonna say is dont approach Wake as if you are going to transfer for sure, I am also doing business and im not sure I want to leave, I absolutely love it here, but I think I will just because McIntire is amazing, and I know ill love UVA!!

anyone have any opinion will it help if Im in state? for transfer

Being IS can help with transferring because the school has to maintain the 2:1 ratio.

You have to achieve in college first and foremost. That will outweigh anything you did in high school, especially at a good college like Wake. I transfered into UVa after two years with similar high school stats but a better college gpa than 3.5. No guarantee but if you keep up the way your achieving your chances are better than not for sure. However, as much as you might think you love UVa, you have to enjoy Wake. Everyone I know who ever was simply using a school as a bridge to another school (at least another 4 yr i have no community college experience where this is common and acceptable) did not get the most out of where they were. Go to wake with the intention of staying there four years, make friends and get involved (my ECs in college were a huge boost). Enjoy wake to its fullest for at least a year (your much safer to transfer after 2 years if your able to keep up the grades). If after a year or two your doing great take a crack at admisison and you should get in, i know plenty who transfered with worse credientials than you.

keep in mind that applications for transfer are due early 2nd semester and are time consuming. I honestly dont think a year is enough to to assess wake (a school that im really interested in for law school and like a lot), and really youd be bailing on it after a semester with all your intention being on getting out. id recommend two years at wake unless you hate it, but go in wiht and open mind, do well there, and you may not want to leave.

im actually going to Villanova, while I know that I should not go in with the mindset of transferring, the tuition wont even compare for NOva 50,000 to Uva(instate) 20,000. Plus UVa is a great school and closer to home. I will at least give it a shot, it was my dream school. However i also know it might not work out so I fully intend to join clubs/ get involved at NOVa any thoughts
