Transfer Chances

Applying to Marshall School of Business as junior for Fall of '05

Transfer gpa 3.8
EC's: Working 35 hours/week

finished all ge's and pre-req's for business admin.

Looks like a good shot, but Marshall may be a difficult to get into. I'll call a match-semi-reach, but more match.

Hello peeps! I've been wandering around the board lately and decided to ask you guys a question since I see many of you actually respond and are very helpful. What do you guys think my chances are of getting into USC? I applied when I was a Senior in high school but unfortunately I didn't get in.

I'm in my second year at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

I have fewer than 60 units, therefore they will be looking at my high school records. I graduated from high school with a GPA of 3.8 and was involved in many school organizations. (ex: CSF, Ephebian Society, leadership position in several clubs, marchign band. . .).

I have an SAT score of 1100. . I know I must retake and boost up my score.

By the end of this fall I will have a 3.4 - 3.5 GPA. I was told that the average GPA of transfer students is 3.5.

I'm really involved in college organiztions. I'm part of two organizations on campus and have a leadership position in one of them.

I have had two jobs in the past. At one point, I was working both jobs at the same time.

So what do you guys think? Do you think I have a chance at transferring succesfully with a GPA of 3.5 or should I wait and apply maybe next year once I boost it up?

By the way, I'm applying to the School of Music for the Music Industry Program. My second choice major is Sociology.

bump

I have heard that the music program at USC is very good, and very difficult to get into.

I believe you qualify as a transfer, however I'd be curious to know what classes you have taken at CSU towards a music major.

I will be honest with you, transferring from a CSU is very difficult, I was one of the fortunate few from last year, and now I have to take my GE's all over again, just something to keep in mind.
