Hello! I am posting in regards to my desire to transfer to Fordham for the Fall 2016 semester. I am currently a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Although I love the strong business program, school spirit, and my friends here, I am not as happy as I would be elsewhere. I want to transfer to Fordham because of the amazing business school that is so conveniently located in New York City with access to so many amazing internship opportunities. I hate that the environment at Madison is one so focused on the social life/greek life and sports. I want to be in a big city, with a lot to do, and many future opportunities. As far as my stats, I was accepted into Gabelli last year when I applied and regret not choosing it. I had a 28 act, 3.85 high school gpa and great recommendations. In my first semester of college, I took very difficult classes and had a 3.2 gpa my first semester. Being in large lectures and not getting much personal attention really hurt my academics, and I am hoping that I can highlight that when applying to transfer to Fordham. However, I am doing very well this semester and am expecting my gpa to go up to a 3.4/3.5 after this semester. Lastly, I am very involved in college. I already have a well respected internship and have leadership roles in 3 organizations. What are my chances? I know the gpa cutoff is a 3.0 so I make it there, but I am trying to decide if I should apply sooner to be considered sooner (but have to apply with just a 3.2) or wait until may when my grades are finalized and hopefully I have a 3.5 but risk it being late and not being accepted. What is the best way to handle this? Thank you for your time and help!
