So I was accepted into Cooper Union earlier this year, but from what I understand there is massive grade deflation and extreme workload, student life and financial problems there, so I intend to transfer for sophomore or junior term. I’m wondering how hard it is to transfer given the relatively low average GPA of people here. From what I understand Columbia grad school is very open to Cooper undergraduate applicants, but does that apply to transfers as well? Can anyone share with me their experience applying to transfer and/or knowledge of past successful transfers to the following colleges:
Columbia University
MIT
Cornell
Upenn
Carnegie Mellon
Is it possible to transfer to any of these with a 3-3.4 college gpa
35 act
93.5 cumulative high school gpa (weighted top 15 specialized hs)
80-100 hrs volunteer work at nonprofit
And a few research internships.
u know, u dont have to go this year… you can always find a new school now

cooper remains a dysfunctional nightmare, take a gap year , go elsewhere all.
