Transfer chances?

I am currently a freshman at the University of Miami in the biomedical engineering department looking to transfer for the Fall of 2008.

From Ohio, biracial (American/Indian)

My high school stats are:
GPA UW-4.37
GPA W-3.98
ACT-30
Rank-1, Valedictorian
IB Diploma
Good EC’s and volunteer work

College stats:
GPA first semester- 3.94
Provost’s Honor Roll

Involved in the Biomedical Society, Surfrider, Green Peace and Project Lead Serve

I think my reasons for transferring essay is pretty strong and my college recommendation should be pretty good

I also have a few questions, last year the admissions office of BU contacted me about 2 weeks before their application deadline telling me that if I applied I’d be eligible for their full scholarship (or something like that I dont quite remember), I found it very bizarre and didn’t apply because at the time I was interested in architecture. My question is will that help me at all? Or might it hurt me because I didn’t end up applying…?

My other question is is there any chance for a transfer student to get a merit scholarship? I have a feeling I already know the answer to this questions but I’m just wondering…

Thanks for the help!

no they don't give any scholarships to transfers. and it would only help you if you mention it and give a good reason why you turned it down and now are looking again at BU. otherwise, i'd say you are fine and most likely in.
good luck!

you are in!
