hey guys,

i was wondering if you can help me out i.e "chance me" for these universities. i'm currently a freshman at uc davis but i sort of want to transfer for sophomore year. ucd is great in certain areas, but it wasn't my first choice to begin with and i feel that i just don't fit well with the town and overall ambiance of the school.

i wasn't in an american high school...did the IB instead. in total I got 38 points which is decent.
Biology HL 7
Visual Art HL 7
French B HL 6
Maths SL 5
Eng A1 SL 6
History SL 6
1 extra point from TOK + EE
i think if i convert my grades to GPA, it should be at least a 3.7, if a 6 is equivalent to an A- (although this isn't certain). i was somewhat involved in activities, although not in long terms. these are some examples from grade 11-12: i played in a pit band, supervised a cooking class for a term, was member of the yearbook, was the chief graphic designer of the school's magazine, helped out the PTA.

my GPA for the first quarter at ucd was a 3.6. i was involved in some small community and service projects but am planning to do more this winter.

my SAT scores however were rubbish: a total of 1770.
my SAT 2 were not impressive as well. a 610 for math level 2 and a 710 for french.

i was thinking of applying to these universities:
Wesleyan, Tufts, Middlebury, Northwestern, USC, John Hopkins.

should i apply or should i wait until next year where i can bring up my college GPA?

thanks for any help!
