Transfer Credit Question

So I got myself into a class that I'm not particularly loving and here's the fun part: I'm taking it at a community college and from what I understand, none of the universities I'm looking at have a "direct equivalent" for such a course but it does transfer.

What does this mean? Does it mean that, if combined with another course to fill in any missing portions from their "standard curriculum," I'll be able to continue my degree plan there unimpeded without having to take another class covering basically the same thing again? If not, please explain to me what it signifies.

I'm just wondering since I am not really loving the class I'm taking, and wondering if it's worth it to continue to stay in it considering how it has no "direct equivalent."

This probably means that they will give you credit for this courses but that it does not fulfill any specific requirements. It can be used for free electives if your program has those.

What our D did when she was interested in transferring was ask the U she wanted to transfer into for guidance in course selection. It paid off as nearly all of the CC courses she took gave her credit and satisfied GEs at her U.

If you have time to drop or switch courses to one that may be more useful, I’d look into that. If not and you don’t need the course to remain full time or for FAid or other purposes, I’d consider dropping the course and devoting more energy into remaining courses, college search, apps, part time job and ECs.
