I just have a question about transfer credits evaluation. I am a new transfer student to Cal, already registered classes for Fall, by attending virtual CalSO, but have not gotten my transferable credits evaluated. I contacted my advisor by email, but didn't get an answer.
So, is that just me or every other new transfer that haven't had transferable credits evaluated?

Not a transfer, but I took some community college classes when I entered Berkeley as a freshman. It took my CC credits a while to transfer onto my bearfacts. They’re unfortunately a bit slow…in everything.

If they were from a California community college, they should transfer as listed at http://www.assist.org .

For CCC, just be patient. assist.org should give you an idea of what articulates. It’ll appear on DARS after a couple months, you don’t have to do anything. If you have specific questions, try to get in contact with your advisor.

For OOS credit, you do need to contact your advisor. Have past transcripts and course syllabuses handy, they’ll probably need them to determine the articulations.

If there are any issues with pre-reqs, well, you can probably just ignore it. Pre-reqs are very very strongly suggested, but they’re not required and telebears doesn’t enforce them. So if you’re trying to get into a class with transfer coursework as a pre-req, just ignore the pre-req and enroll anyways. :P

Thank you guys! I’m an OOS transfer. I haven’t gotten any notification about evaluation from advisor yet, and don’t know if this is normal as school will start soon… and those classes that I registered don’t need any prerequisites.
well, I will try to contact my advisor again and get this thread updated if I get any new information!
