Are you talking about the Case SAGES program? I feel your pain. Perhaps they haven't authorized you for an ONYEN yet. I would wait till you get an OFFICIAL decision before you give up.

hey african34, can u receive email at ur unc.edu address, or only send it, i cant seem to receive anything

i just sent myself an e-mail from my tulane account and received it. i don't know what's up. are you sure you're sending it to youronyen@email.unc.edu and not youronyen@unc.edu?

okay i'll try that, do u think being able to actually set up an onyen account, might mean we've been accepted?

yep the Case SAGES program, my guess is Case acknowledges how lame the school is and offers this "awesome seminar approach" to learning just to lock students in to take more of their money and forcing you to stay at least 2 years.... but I now know I will need to take actual english courses next semester so I can get the hell out of here...

I read that they send you your official "onyen" information with your decision letter...so maybe those of us who already made ours screwed up. You're only supposed to make one "for the rest of your life" as they said.

But at least you could make one...some people still get a message saying they are not able to create one nor do they have a housing icon either....

hopeful aunt... i am one of those people. however, i am trying not to worry for several reasons:
1. I don't think they would be letting people know if they got in or not through stuff like that
2. I don't understand how one could create a valid ONYEN since even if they get accepted you'd think UNC would wait until they decided to attend before assigning one
3. There is so much random data accumulated by the universities systems that some people may have any combination of the previously discussed matters due to a variety of reasons

it doesn't bode well... but i'm not losing hope. just out of curiosity...what are your nephew's stats?

nephews stats:

waitlisted last year
currently at NCSU with a 3.8
lots of EC's
probably only 25 transferrable hours (although he took 32)

based on statistics he should get in

good luck to you!

yea i've none people to get in from state after being weightlisted with a 3.4.... you're nephew has nothing to worry about. and that's good news for me as well. best of luck to your nephew.

a quick question. i completed 24 hours first semester and will have 40 hours done by the end of this one. will unc look at my transcript as having 24 or 40 hours?

I would think they would evaluate your transcript with 24 to determine if you are to be admitted and then WHEN you are admitted they will look at all 40...determine how many are transferrable and you will probably be designated a sophomore

i am just glad i am transfering as a junior, i didn't get in as a sophmore b/c of my high school grades...3.7(w) and 1180 SAT...but now I can just lean n my 3.7 college GPA :)

yeah i set up my onyen account too, but it won't let me sign on to my inbox. oh well..

i have a PID, I was able to sign on to the application website thing, i had the housing application, financial aid, change address, laptop, immunization/medical... i think that was it. i went ahead and applied for housing because i already had my suitemates and roommate picked out with their PIDs too. so i'm hoping i didn't screw my housing over like we may have did with the onyen account.... :/

i don't understand how we could have all these things and access all of them if we weren't enrolled as students... why would they make that accessible to rejected people?

application last updated on March 28th

hs gpa: 4.3 weighted
catawba college gpa: 3.7
SAT: 1790, i'm not sure how that translates into the old SAT
got weightlisted out of highschool and i'm applying for Sophmore transfer.

ps, the website is down? does that mean anything?

just wanted to make one comment, I noticed that a lot of the people that have access to housing forms and are able to create an onyen that their application was last updated in mid to late march, and I am thinking that this might be the date a decision was made on their applications, so maybe admissions has not made decisions on some of the other applications yet, just speculating though....

I spoke with an Assistant Director of Admissions today and was told that applicant central is separate system from admissions and that she had no idea how or why some people had icons. She said decisions had not be finalized. Just thought I would share...

And are they going to be finalized by tomorrow?

When asked..she replied within the next week or two

oh... she did say they had over 3000 applicants for transfer which is about normal

i'm in delirium
