Just wondering, my cousin was recently accepted to UF from SFCC as a transfer student to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences- as an English major. However, she called me about ten minutes ago frantic about how she's changed her mind about what she wants to do with her life and how she wants to now double major in both English and in History. They are both in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences..but I have no idea as to how to answer her question. I am starting UF this summer as a freshman, but from my experience growing up next to SFCC in Gainesville, and witnessing a lot of students transfer to UF, it is to my knowledge that UF only allows you to follow the major you have been accepted for as a transfer- am I correct?

Untrue. My friend transferred to UF as a statistics major after 1 year at CC and got his major changed to mechanical engineering after that year. He just slowly took the prereq classes required to actually get on the track for his new major. You definitely have to petition to change the major, but it is definitely not hard to do.

Ohhh ok, but do you know if it's different for someone transferring after 2 years at CC with an AA degree?

A transfer is a transfer. She'll be an undergraduate at UF, right?

Yes, she'll be a junior.

As long as she doesn't have 90 credits, she can change, add, double her major to whatever she wants.
