I am an early college student in an early college program. As a result, the majority of my last two years of high school consisted of beginning my college education by taking dual enrollment classes. Therefore, many of my high school graduation requirements were met by these college courses (taught at the college or online by college faculty with other college students).

I have heard that Drexel does not accept the transfer credits if the courses were also used to "satisfy high school graduation requirements." In other words, they won't allow the student to "double dip" and use the credit for both high school and college.

Can anyone verify if this is true, especially current students who have had experience with this? Also, is there any way to get around this?

Hi! I’m currently in my second year at Drexel University. I also did dual enrollment and took only college classes my last two years of high school so when I graduated high school I actually had my AA degree. I had a lot of my credits accepted, including English classes, public speaking, economics, etc. Because of this I am actually considered a junior credit-wise (though I can’t graduate early because of my co-op cycle… instead I use the extra credits to pick up a minor, possibly another minor, and study abroad - all great experiences!). Your best option is to contact an academic advisor and ask them. I didn’t worry about this until after I’d already decided to go to Drexel because I knew I was going to go there regardless, but I’m sure there is someone you can speak with who can tell you exactly what credits will transfer over and what won’t.
