Transfer essays that worked or that you are proud of

Okay, okay: There is no "Bauld" book for transfers, and the transfer essay, I have gathered (both from CC and elsewhere) is a different beast than the first year app essay. By transfer essay, I mean the common app transfer essay, IE reasons for transferring and things you hope to achieve. But that name, "transfer essay," could also apply to any variants: Why this school? Why do you want to transfer? Etc.

Since the literature on transfer essays is minute compared to the literature on 1st year application essays, I think that we here at CC have to create our own little transfer-essay workshop.

I'm not sure how the sharing of essays goes on CC, but my hope is that anyone reading this thread who either has a transfer essay that has worked, or has a transfer essay that they think is effective, or has a transfer essay that they'd like examined, will email those essays to everyone who posts their email address in their thread. I am especially interested in transfer essays that worked, in order to start developing an intuition about the tone and timbre of the effective transfer essay.

My email address is rm3cpp@yahoo.com

This thread could have a very short half-life, as I could be breaking some CC rule. I'm not sure. Let me know.

Thanks, hopefully we can start some essay sharing!

For cc students, the "why transfer" doesn't matter because they kind of have to transfer out. Also, the "why X" essay is the same as the one for first year admissions. You can read numerous books on those.

I am currently working on my transfer essay. I am really experiencing a problem of literature shortage.

people should stop relying on books for your inspiration :) . it seems they're looking for a generic way to boost the effectiveness of theire essays... they could always say they want world peace, to save all the starving puppies and to create a large pool filled with amphibians with large teeth, to throw all bubble gum pop stars into (admission boards hate britteny).

jkjk.. not really, but people should start thinking in a critical manner about everything instead of looking for a sure fire means of success.

maybe its cus im drunk but i wuv you.
