also, if anyone on the wait list sent in cover letters, how did you send them in?
via regular mail? email?

Thank you all for the support!

To everyone interested in what I did before I was accepted… I wrote a brief cover letter including spring grades, recent accomplishments, and my continued interest in Barnard as my #1 choice and e-mailed it to Jill Fondiller (her e-mail address was in the wait list letter). That’s it. Best of luck to those still waiting.

To those accepted… facebook group, anyone?

yes please!

Created!
I don’t know how to make a link (unfortunately I am less internet savvy than I once believed) but just search for it - the group is called Barnard Transfers - Fall 2009. I am currently the only member… haha so start joining!

so it’s june 1… anyone else hear back from the waitlist yet?
im thinking about calling tmrw.
luckily the other school i am looking at doesnt want deposits until the 3rd

congrats to everyone who made it! i didnt obviously… but its cool, i got into Cornell, so i’ll still be in the state atleast :P

i’m dying here. does anyone know how many students they are accepting off the wait list?

Is ANYONE else still waiting??

Yes. I’m still waiting and I called about a week and a half ago and my luck being what it is the woman in charge of Transfer apps wasn’t in, but the woman who answered the phone told me that there was still some movement on the apps. I’m more than a little frustrated at this point.

i’m still waiting too! i called last week and talked to someone in charge and said theyre still working on it…

i spoke to someone about a week ago because i had a tricky situation with my other school. she took my name, put me on hold while she (presumably) spoke with an admissions counselor. then she told me there were no spots left. every person i have called since then has given me a generic response…that there is still SOME activity on the waiting list. i’m not sure what to believe.

oh wow… do you think maybe they just didnt want to leave you hanging in your tricky situation and wanted to be safe? if theres no spots left why cant they just start sending us our rejection letters?! if its true, this sucks…

i have no idea what to think! they keep saying we should know by the middle of the month, but now it is the 22nd…
i also know approximately 60 people accepted the wait list. unfortunately, i don’t know how many they will take.

I don’t know if it means anything to anyone still waiting, but I received my information package a couple of days ago. There’s not much in it besides a few letters of congrats, info for optional adviser meetings, some stuff on orientation, and a booklet about how credit transfers and such. I’m afraid it might mean that they’re done accepting transfers though.

I’m not sure if that means anything. What I do know is that I called them on Thursday and they said that they were calling people first if a spot opened up, as opposed to having you wait for a letter.

I got in !!

who’s still waiting?

Sigh. I am. There can’t be very many of us. Would four or five more students really be such a big deal?

Yes, I spoke with the admissions counselor and though she wouldn’t tell me exactly how many, she said there were not many people left at all.
