Hello CC!

I am a freshman male at liberal arts college in New England. It is not Amherst, but is a fellow NESCAC school.

I am overall unhappy with my fit at school, and am looking into possibly transferring to Boston College for the 2012 Semester.I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight to this practice, as well as my chances for this to occur.

As far as any ‘hooks’ go, I have approximately a 3.5 gpa first semester at my current school, am a URM, and will not be applying for financial aid.

On campus, I have a job, am involved in two clubs that meet for a total of ten hours a week, as well as play a club sport. I will have a financial internship at a bulge bracket firm in NYC this summer.

In high school, my stats (abbreviated) looked like this:
-3.5 GPA, 1950 SAT
-Honors/APs from elite public school
-Two jobs
-Leadership officer positions on debate, Keyclub, student council, and founder of an economics club
-Member of band and choir for two years, and have played a mixture of lacrosse, football, and soccer during my high school years
-NHS, Officer and co-founder of numerous clubs
-Two fantastic letters of recommendation (I could get one from the Dean of Students at my college)
-Student Ambassador Enrichment Program

I forget a ton of the other EC’s due to it being over a year since I first did the CommonApp, but overall had a diverse application with what was told to be a very well written essay.

I understand that BC has only a 15% percent acceptance for transfers, but I think overall it would be an unreal fit for me and I would flourish both socially and academically there. I can get a 3.8 GPA next semester to help the cause. I would be looking to get into their school of Management.

So basically, do I have a shot? Can any users provide specific insight into their own experiences with this school, or the transfer process in general?

Your time is greatly appreciated!
