Anyone on here looking to transfer in '13?

yeah i am also

I wonder where everyone is.

I am applying for transfer Fall 2013

Me too! What are your stats?

D is thinking of transferring for Fall 2013. She’s at Emory now.

yess i am…

^^ I’ve been looking into applying to Emory too!

I am looking to transfer too!

Me too! Coming from Georgia State

Got in last year with an absurdly low GPA, but couldn’t afford it full-ticket. Now I’m reapplying from UIUC for fall '13 with the knowledge that if I get in, I’ve got someone paying for it. Booooom

You got in with a low GPA? That just gave me a little bit of hope haha.

Hey guys, I’m considering doing this (current Freshman) but I don’t think my first semester grades, 2 A’s, a B+, an A in a 1 credit course, and a W (in an acting course as an economics major, and it was over disagreements with the professor and a hatred of the class, I was not failing) are good enough to make the cut. It comes out to a 3.78, but I’m worried about the W. My high school record is respectable but not Vandy quality.

Basically, what I’m asking is, would anyone recommend waiting until the second semester is over (April 1) to have my college transcript sent out (after the priority deadline). I just don’t want to have been rejected by the time I’m done with this semester, which I hope to get straight A’s in.

eric2dea,
I would send in whatever transcript you think is best, a 3.78 really isn’t that bad, but if you are confident that you will get a 4.0 next semester then go for it. Being a transfer student, you will have a much higher rate of acceptance than any other applicant group.

A 3.78 is more than fine.

My GPA is only 3.64. I am at Brandeis University now. I don’t know if it will hinders my chance. I’ve seen so many stellar GPAs on CC!

There is no point in worrying about it. Once your transfer app is in, relax and wait. Worry changes nothing, but makes you feel awful.

I noticed they aren’t need blind for transfer apps. Does anyone know how big of a deal a large amount of financial need would be to admissions? Also is it possible to notify them of current outside scholarships. I currently have a $5000 scholarship and another potential scholarship by next year.

We got really good financial aid from Vandy (D was a transfer) - I wasn’t aware that they aren’t need-blind for transfers.

since when are they not need blind for transfers?
