Hey there, anyone else looking to transfer into UVA as a sophomore in the Fall of 2013? I am almost certain that I will be applying to transfer. I was admitted as a First Year for last fall but declined and enrolled elsewhere, but am now looking at UVA again. Anyone else in a similar position and want to discuss anything or have any insight in the process that they'd like to share?

If you haven’t found the UVa transfer blog yet, you might want to start looking at it:
[Transferring to UVA](http://www.uvatransferadmission.blogspot.com)

Good luck with your transfer application.

I’m a recent transfer with some advice! Definitely look at UVa’s transfer “requirements” and knock out as many of those classes as you can. If you know what degree you want to pursue at UVa, take close classes as well. You want a smooth transition into the school unlike myself who lost a bunch of credits.

drjenkins, want to talk about your transfer experience? What were your stats but, most importantly, how was your transition? Have you made friends, passed classes, enjoyed a great social and academic life?

drjenkins - I am also curious about your experience if you wouldn’t mind sharing! Did you come from a CC or another 4-year? Are you a single student, or do you have a family? Generic answers are fine, no need to divulge personal information.

I’d like to remain anonymous, so I messaged you guys with my wall of text. Anyone else who wants to know about my transfer experience, feel free to message me! I’ll be as detailed as you want.

drjenkins- Thanks! any chance you could message me your wall of text? I dont have enough posts yet to PM.

Same here- if possible!

Does anyone know any statistics for transfer admissions for out-of-state applicants?

Also, anyone know anything about housing as a transfer? From people I’ve talked to, i’ve heard there are some apartment style dorms and such for transfers, but itd probably be better to try to live with current students that I already know. Any insight?

Agree with what people you have talked to have said.

The transfer housing (unless you luck out and get Lambeth) is far from Central Grounds and you will be with randoms.

Hi UVA transfers! I am a current second year at UVA and my roommate and I are looking for someone to take over our lease for next year! We are offering a top floor of a cottage on 16th street which is close to rugby road (our fraternity row) and close to the corner (where there are a bunch of shops and places to eat). It is an efficiency apartment with one giant room, a closet, a bathroom and a kitchen. It is extrememly spacious and a great location and you can live on your own instead of being stuck with randos that you dont know! You can fit two people in the apartment easily if you are a neater person than me and my roommate. the rent is $775/month not including utilities, but it does include a parking spot! It has a full kitchen with a fridge and a stove and plenty of room for a kitchen table! Please email me at nmolson93******.com if you are interested! we would love to hear from you!

@drjenkins-- can you please send me your transfer experience info? I don’t yet have enough posts to send a private message. I applied for fall 2013 admission to the SEAS. Do you know what the SIS symbols mean? I currently have a green check-- have had it for about 3 weeks. No to-do’s, but my application wasn’t missing anything and I already sent in all required financial aid documents.

SP -
The green check mark simply means your application has all components there and is ready to read. If you search this forum you’ll see it is anxiety causing for first year applicants as well. Best of luck!

@blueiguana-- thanks for the info
