Hi! I was actually just accepted as a transfer student for Spring 2016 and I’m moving in next week! I also applied last Spring for Fall 2015 and was sent an email basically saying that they were going to offer me admission but too many freshman bad accepted the offer to be able to accept transfers that year. So in my experience, I was hesitant to apply for another Fall semester so I did Spring and it turned out well! That’s just a heads up from me, I don’t know about any statistics but in my opinion it’s a little more difficult to transfer for Fall for reasons out of the students control.
I’m sure transferring for Fall semester makes the transition easier. But for me it was very fast since I’m transferring in between semesters. I was accepted and had to reply within a week and kind of went in blindly. I hadn’t gotten my financial aid until a day before the response deadline and still have no information on housing or if I’ll even get housing on campus! But I accepted nonetheless because I really love the school. The transfer coordinators and administration has been incredibly accommodating and helpful with any of the processes so that makes it great.
Anyways, I was accepted to Scripps with a high school gpa of 4.3, SAT of 1900, college gpa of 3.8 and two 4’s on AP tests. I had some extracurriculars for both HS and college but I really think that they put a lot of emphasis on your statement. Obviously they want good students and your college grades matter more than high school. But I think your statement is really your chance to shine and show who you are and what you could offer to Scripps.
I think you have great stats for Scripps! But your statement should reflect their ideals too. Good luck! Maybe I’ll see you on campus next year!
Hi! I’ve just sent in my transfer application before it was due and had an interview this week. The interview went well I think and I’m hoping for an acceptance! I heard that they didn’t take any transfer applicants for last fall, so I’m hoping there’s a change. I just love this school.
My stats:
4 APs (three 5s and one 3); college: I work part time (about to get another job in addition to this), honors program, on the board of clubs and volunteering, academic achievement awards, experience with research, and my GPA 4.0 GPA.
I’m really interested in seeing how many other people are applying and what their stats are!
I think your stats look good, but what kinds of other stuff did you do in college? Is it related to the mission of the college?
excited for us!
