I have gotten conflicting information from the people at Syracuse. When I called admissions and asked when I would be receiving my financial aid package, I was told I'd be receiving it the same time current students are... in late may. I found this to be unfair considering our deposit is due on May 1st.

This didn't make sense to me.

I emailed them and inquired about this contradiction and all I received back from the FA office was..

Nicholas,

Transfer students will be packaged for financial aid at the end of March.

Sincerely,
SU Office of FA blah blah blah.

It seems to me we are in the midst of the end of March.

Have any transfer student that have been accepted received their package?

So far, you’re the only transfer student to receive an admission decision. So no one can really help you out…

oh… well

I think thats because I re-activated my application… from last year… I think that changes things

I hate to bump after so long, but was the FA package good? How is the aid at Syracuse? I’ve got an EFC of 0 so my transfer options are somewhat limited, and I’m not sure if I would be ready to take out a loan for the school.

If I were to go to a liberal arts college as a freshman for the fall semester and then transfer to Syracuse starting with the spring semester, would I get the same financial aid consideration as a first year applicant?

Just got my FA package. My EFC = 0. 35k grants. 5k loans. 10-15k unattended. I think it’s pretty good.
